How I Lost 50lbs

Updated: Jun 3, 2023

Preview: What I did is basic, not easy. If you are someone who needs to decrease your bodyweight, don't give up! In this short article, I share with you 5 high ROI habits that helped me take my Bodyweight from 297lbs down to the mid 240's. #thefatlossfix

I DRASTICALLY REDUCED ALCOHOL INTAKE

Alcohol, in particular Beer, was causing more than one issue for me. Firstly, our bodies treat alcohol as it does poison. It shuts down all other metabolic pathways (including lypolisis) to focus on metabolizing the alcohol. Secondly, it creates inflammation! And finally, it disrupts sleep.

I'll be honest here: I did make room for a Cocktail a few times weekly, often on days I trained. But the consumption (overall) was drastically reduced.

I STARTED WALKING EVERYDAY

Look it! 50lbs is the equivalent of 150 Big Mac Meals in calories. Walking 10,000 steps everyday let me chip away little by little (500kcals every day!).

I STARTED EATING MORE PROTEIN

All I did was multiplied my body weight x .73 ... that's how many grams of protein I ate everyday. The source of protein I used were Beef, Chicken, Eggs & sometimes Fish.

How many times a day did I eat? I alternated between 3 & 4. And I noticed whenever I ate breakfast before drinking coffee, I generally felt more energized throughout the day.

I STRENGTH TRAINED 3x WEEKLY

The most effective Strength Training Program I've used is High Intensity Powerbuilding. You can find this program in our members app.

Actually, this might be insightful, I almost entirely removed heavy Deadlifts from my training program, because I found that they contributed to in insatiable appetite for carbohydrates.

I DID CARIO ONCE EVERY 5th DAY

I started running and this is how I went about it. My first run would be 2.5km's. 5 days later I would run 2.5km's. And 5 days later I would double my work & run 5km's. I would simply repeat this cycle.

THERE YOU HAVE IT!

50lbs is a lot of weight! And it didn't happen over night. To be truthfully honest with you, I lost 25lbs in the first month! But, it took me nearly 6 months to get the last 25lbs off. A car accident derailed my training progress and hampered my efforts for months. But I didn't give up.

Things will come up in your Fat Loss journey. If you keep these habits as the cornerstones of your efforts, you will be successful.
